Aceh Tamiang, Indonesia – The Institut Ilmu Kesehatan and Teknologi Nurdin Abdurrahman, through students of the Diploma Three Environmental Health Study Program, carried out a social initiative by distributing basic food aid to communities affected by hydrometeorological flooding in Kampung Kota Lintang, Dusun Hasanah, Kota Kuala Simpang District, Aceh Tamiang Regency, on Thursday (21/05/2026).
This activity is part of the students’ study tour program under the theme “Creative Economy Based on Waste and Circular Entrepreneurship Education for Students and the Community of Tamiang.” In addition to environmental education and entrepreneurship learning, the students also demonstrated social concern for residents who are still affected by the post-flood situation following the hydrometeorological disaster on 27 November 2025.
The Lecturer of the Environmental Health Study Program, T. Khairil Razi, S.T., M.T., C.Ed., stated that the activity was not only designed as a field learning experience for students but also to foster a spirit of humanity and social awareness toward disaster-affected communities.

“We hope that the food packages provided can help ease the burden of communities affected by the flood and serve as a tangible form of care from INAR students and academic staff for the people of Aceh Tamiang,” he said.
Appreciation for the activity was also expressed by Poris Zalmi, who viewed the students’ social action as a positive initiative that provides direct benefits to flood victims.
“This assistance is certainly very meaningful for the community, especially in helping to reduce the economic burden of residents after the disaster,” he said.
Meanwhile, INAR student representative Rasya hoped that the social activity would bring benefits and strengthen the relationship between students and the community.
“We hope this assistance can help the community and provide encouragement for residents who are recovering from the impact of the disaster,” he said.
Gratitude was also expressed by a resident of Kampung Kota Lintang, Linawati, who felt greatly helped by the students’ concern.
“We are very grateful and hope that activities like this continue because the benefits are truly felt by the community,” she said. (Saut Simanjuntak)
